Shipping Point Inspection

All varieties of hops in the state of Oregon must be inspected for quality and condition of seed, leaf, and stem content prior to marketing, processing, or accepting by first purchaser, as required by OAR 643-010-0025, under the Oregon Hop Commission. Inspection is conducted under standards established by the USDA Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS).

Hops are inspected for seed content and leaf/stem content. The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) now offers hop certificates via email. If you would like an official inspection certificate please email us your grower ID and address or call us for more information.

Hop quarantine

A hop quarantine against powdery mildew of hops prohibits the entry of hop roots or plant material from anywhere outside of Oregon except Washington and Idaho (see OAR 603-052-1020).
