Agricultural and Community Water Act
SB 1069 is known as the Agricultural and Community Water Act, or “ACWA.” SB 1069 establishes a statewide Water Conservation, Reuse, and Storage Investment Fund and directs OWRD to conduct a regional aquifer recharge feasibility study in the Umatilla Basin. ACWA Funding
SB 5556 provides funding to support these efforts with $1.75 million for the statewide grant program and $750,000 for the Umatilla aquifer project. Effective upon siging of the bill.
