Lost In The Line of Duty
Donald Welp of Gold Beach, appointed July 1st, 1959, drowned on November 16th, 1967 when returning from a boat patrol on the Rogue River accompanied by Officer Wayne Krieger, the boat swerved suddenly, throwing both men into the water. The officer's body was located the following day.
