Enabling interoperable public safety communications statewide.
Oregon Wireless Interoperability Network (OWIN) is a consolidation project of four state agencies wireless radio systems: Department of Forestry, Department of Corrections, Department of Transportation and State police. OWIN will build and manage a digital microwave backbone and a digital P25 radio system throughout the state for use by the four agencies.
OWIN will build partnerships with local agencies, and tribal, federal governments that will provide cost and resource sharing during construction and ongoing operations. These partnerships are also to help promote interoperability among all agencies for daily and emergency operations.
