OSP Traffic Stop Leads to Over 17 lbs. of Marijuana, One Arrest near Lakeview

An Oregon State Police traffic stop in the Lakeview area Wednesday afternoon led to the arrest of a California man following the discovery of approximately 17.5 pounds of marijuana.
 
On December 17, 2008, at approximately 12:40 p.m., an OSP Trooper stopped a Chevrolet Equinox displaying California license plates occupied by one individual for a traffic violation on US Highway 395 northbound near milepost 136.
 
Investigative efforts during the course of the traffic stop led to the discovery of approximately 17.5 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle. The seized marijuana has an estimated value of approximately $52,000.
 
The vehicle's occupant, KIM GRANT NELSON, age 52, from Redway, California, was arrested and lodged in the Lake County Jail for Unlawful Possession and Distribution of a Controlled Substance -Marijuana.
