Several hundred people came came to the event, viewed the displays, and also heard impaired driving safety speeches by Douglas County Chief Deputy District Attorney Rick Wesenberg and OSP Roseburg Area Commander Lieutenant Douglas Ladd.

Following the educational event, a multi-agency DUII enforcement effort took place between 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Several other arrests and citations were noted, including one Reckless Driving arrest, outstanding warrant arrests, and Driving While Suspended citations.

"It is satisfying to know that 16 potential killers were removed from the highways of Douglas County last Saturday, " said OSP Lieutenant Douglas Ladd. "It's also dissapointing because it showed we clearly still have a long way to go regarding education and prevention of this crime."

Agencies participating in Saturday's educational event included OSP, ODOT, Douglas County SO, Winston Police, Sutherlin Police, MADD, and the Douglas County DA's Office.

Agencies participating in the enforcement effort were OSP, DCSO, Roseburg PD, Sutherlin PD, and Winston PD. Extra officers were put on patrol using federal grant funds.
