OSP Investigating Woodburn Police Officer Injured When Struck While Directing Traffic

The Oregon State Police is continuing the investigation into Saturday afternoon's incident in which a Woodburn police officer was struck by a vehicle on the Highway 214 overpass at Interstate 5. Any information about the officer and his medical status should be directed to Woodburn Police Department.
 
On December 6, 2008 at approximately 3:26 p.m. Woodburn Officer PETER ANTOINE, age 28, was outside of his patrol vehicle directing traffic at the scene of a previous traffic crash just west of Interstate 5 on Highway 214. The officer was struck by a Chevrolet pickup driven by KURTISS STEVEN TEEGARDEN, age 43, from Salem, while attempting to turn from westbound Highway 214 onto the southbound Interstate 5 on ramp.
 
Officer ANTOINE received non-life threatening injuries was transported to Silverton Hospital for treatment.
 
Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation. No enforcement action has been taken at this time.
