Oregon State Police (OSP), Tillamook County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Coast Guard personnel were involved in a search for a missing fisherman whose boat was found Friday afternoon overturned in the Pacific Ocean about two miles off shore from Nehalem Bay. Oregon State Police took a missing person report and the family has provided a photograph for release.

On October 9, 2009 a search was initiated for ROBERT SHAW, age 62, from Washougal, Washington after his wife reported him missing. Shaw reportedly went fishing alone on his 12-foot boat Thursday in the area of the lower Nehalem Bay in northern Tillamook County. He failed to return to where he was staying with his wife in Wheeler.

Personnel from Tillamook County search and rescue, U.S. Coast Guard and OSP Fish & Wildlife Division started searching the area. At approximately 3:00 p.m. the man's overturned boat was found about two miles off shore.

According to OSP Trooper Ryan Howell, search and rescue personnel from Tillamook County Sheriff's Office were to resume search efforts Saturday.
