All legally established public libraries in the state are eligible to apply for this non-competitive form of state aid. During the 2005-06 grant year the Ready to Read budget was $589,021 which was distributed to 119 libraries. See Frequently Asked Questions.

| Outstanding Projects |

The State Library staff also selects several outstanding projects each year that are considered good examples of adhering to the original intent of the grant program, emphasizing service to preschool age children, being replicable in other libraries, showing potential for impact over time, and building partnerships inside and outside the library.
