Goal of Campaign Is to Educate Consumers, Clarify Regulatory Requirements for Practitioners
The Oregon Health Licensing Agency (OHLA) and Board of Cosmetology have launched a practitioner and public education campaign, Facial Forward. The goal of the campaign is to clarify the regulatory requirements of the esthetics (formerly facial technology) scope of practice as developments in the field are making it increasingly difficult to determine the line between medical, therapeutic and esthetic procedures.
Following are components of the campaign, highlighted here to provide you with an overview of materials that can be accessed by clicking on the links below.
We encourage all licensees certified in esthetics to review the materials so that we can all be “on the same page” concerning regulatory requirements.
Consumers of these services will find the information helpful in determining which services may be provided by estheticians within their scope of practice.
