Farmworker Housing Tax Credit / Farmworker Housing Development Account
 
From September 9, 2004 through October 25, 2004 the Department was accepting applications for Farmworker Housing Development Account funding of up to $25,000 per project for on-farm housing projects involving construction, acquisition and/or rehabilitation of housing for low- or very low-income farmworkers and their immediate families. Awards were disbursed in the form of grants or zero percent loans as elected by the applicant. Eligible applicants include for-profit business, local government entities, housing authorities, nonprofit agencies, nonprofit corporations, and private individuals or corporations, including agricultural growers or farm labor contractors. eligible properties are "on-farm" housing, defined as being on land controlled by an agricultural grower or farm labor contractor in connect with farming. Funds were awarded based on a competitive evaluation.
