Oregon Veterans' Home Loans - ORVET
The Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs (ODVA) offers a state veterans' home loan (ORVET) that is an additional and distinctively separate benefit from the USDVA (Federal VA) Home Loan Guaranty Program. The current maximum loan amount is $417,000 or a veterans' remaining eligibility amount if there has been a previous ODVA loan.

ORVET LOANS--2009 FIRST TIME HOMEBUYER'S CREDIT ENDS DEC. 1
FIRST TIME HOMEBUYER'S PROGRAM
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 expanded the first-time homebuyer credit by increasing the credit amount to $8,000 for purchases made before Dec. 1, 2009. The credit for a home purchased in 2009 does not have to be paid back unless the home ceases to be the taxpayer's main residence within a three-year period after purchase.

Veteran Recognition Plates
Oregon veteran license plates will be issued to qualifying veterans with proof of military service--a DD-214 or DD-215.
