BNSF Railroad Repairs to Close Southside Expressway
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad crews will begin work to replace an aging rail line crossing the Southside Expressway (OR 140) between Altamont and Summers Lane on Monday, June 20 at 7:00 a.m. To facilitate work, the Southside Expressway will be closed to all through traffic from 7:00 a.m., Monday, June 20 through Thursday, June 23 at 6:00 p.m.
Motorists traveling eastbound on the Southside Expressway will be detoured through the following route:
Southside Expressway to Altamont Drive
Altamont Drive to Wings Way
Wings Way to Summers Lane
Summers Lane to Southside Expressway
Motorists traveling westbound on the Southside Expressway will be detoured through the following route:
Southside Expressway to Summers Lane
Summers Lane to Anderson Avenue
Anderson Avenue to Altamont Drive
Altamont Drive to Southside Expressway
Flaggers will provide traffic control through the posted detour route during the closure period.
This 1.5-mile long, posted detour route is open to vehicles and trucks not operating on oversize/overweight permits. Drivers of trucks operating under an oversize/overweight permit are advised to call the Over-Dimension Permits unit at 503-373-0000 for alternate route information.
