ODOT to switch I-5 traffic south of Albany
03/07/2008
ALBANY – The Oregon Department of Transportation will be switching southbound Interstate 5 traffic to a temporary median bridge at milepost 121, about 14 miles south of Albany, starting at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 9.

An ODOT contractor has completed the temporary bridge over Sodom Ditch. Once southbound traffic has been switched to the median diversion route, the contractor will demolish the existing bridge and begin construction on a new southbound I-5 bridge over Sodom Ditch.

The traffic switch is contingent on the weather. Heavy rain that creates slick conditions or poor visibility could delay to switch. The switch will be completed before 6 a.m. Monday.

ODOT asks motorists to slow down when approaching the construction zone and to drive with caution.
