Consultant Project Managers (CPMs)/Construction Project Managers (PMs)
Overview
 
The 2007 Project Delivery Review identified the need for region flexibility to meet fluctuating workload demands in both consultant and construction contract management to deliver the program.  The Construction Project Manager position and the Consultant Project Manager position are in the process of being integrated into one position which can be worked in both or either areas of responsibility, managing contracts external to the organization.  These positions manage full service consultant contracts to deliver design services and/or construction engineering services, and manage construction contracts and internal staff to build projects.
 
The Statewide CPM and PM teams are also in the process of merging into a single statewide team. This team will serve to promote statewide consistency in the way ODOT manages contract work and to identify process improvements to help ensure the efficient delivery of contract work.  The team will be aligned with the other statewide teams in regards to structure, charter, and work plan expectations under the Area Manager Team.  The new team will be developed over the remainder of calendar year 2007.
