Interchange Design
About Us
 
The Interchange Engineering staff provides statewide guidance concerning interchanges layouts, interchange design, and Interchange Modification Requests.  Responsibilities include developing interchange design standards, administering the Standard Interchange Layout Sheet, and processing Interchange Modification Requests on the Interstate System required by the Federal Highway Administration.

Programs
Interchange Modification Requests (IMR)
 
Roadway Engineering submits formal requests to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) regarding modifications or additions to the Interstate System.

Layout Sheets
 
Interchange Layout Sheets are required for all new or revised interchanges.  Roadway Engineering is responsible for preparing or overseeing the preparation of the Interchange Layout Sheet.

Training
 
Roadway Engineering offers an Interchange Design Class available on request in Salem or on location in the Region offices.  Technical support is also available upon request.
