| Heavy Trailer Definition |
|
ORS 801.330 - Heavy trailers do not include travel trailers, fixed loads, or special use trailers. Heavy trailers are other trailers with loaded weight over 8,000 pounds. Loaded weight is the weight when the trailer is fully loaded.

Fees
- $90 title fee if submitting an application for title (changing ownership information).
- $10 registration fee, which is permanent for as long as the vehicle is titled in Oregon.
- $12 plate fee required if the vehicle does not already have a plate (also see registration fee page for plate fees).
Note: Heavy trailers registered in Multnomah County are subject to Multnomah County registration fees and are required to pay an additional $10 for permanent heavy trailer registration. Multnomah County registration fees are due at initial registration effective September 1, 2010. Visit Multnomah County's website for more information.

| License Plates |
|
The standard license plate issued for heavy trailers is yellow with blue letters and numbers. It must be displayed on the rear of the trailer.

| Pulling a Heavy Trailer |

A heavy trailer may only be pulled by a vehicle registered by weight.
