Proposed Motor Carrier Rules
All agency rulemaking notices are published by the Secretary of State in the Oregon Bulletin. Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) rules must be approved by the Oregon Transportation Commission (OTC) before they can be filed with the Secretary of State and become effective. Once the public comment period has closed, the department prepares the final rule text and submits it for OTC consideration. The date of the OTC meeting at which consideration is anticipated is listed below.

Oregon is adopting the updated provisions of the International Registration Plan, International Fuel Tax Agreement and the Heavy Vehicle Use Tax.

Recently Closed Motor Carrier Rules
These proposals are no longer open for public comment. The Oregon Transportation Commission will consider approval of these proposed rule changes on the date listed below.

Clarlification of requirements for the use of lift axles with vehicles or loads subject to variance permits.

Recently Adopted Motor Carrier Rules
These rules have been adopted by ODOT approximately within the last six months.

 Maximum Size Limits for Transport of Manufactured Homes (temporary rule)
Allows the administrator of MCTD to approve the movement of a manufactured home that exceeds current limits.

Effective date: April 24, 2008 through October 21, 2008
