People interested in transportation safety issues are invited to share their thoughts and ideas with the Transportation Safety Division of the Oregon Department of Transportation at a meeting on Friday, April 30, in Klamath Falls. The meeting is scheduled for 8: 30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Klamath County Commission Office, 305 Main Street, Klamath Falls.
The Oregon Transportation Safety Action Plan is the safety element of the Oregon Transportation Plan, the state’s long-range multimodal transportation plan. The Oregon Transportation Safety Action Plan establishes goals, strategies and initiatives that address the core transportation safety challenges and opportunities facing Oregon. It is updated every few years.
This session will not only provide a chance to have input in the TSAP, but will also be an opportunity to look for ways to improve transportation safety locally in Klamath County.
The meeting agenda includes:
- An outline of the transportation safety planning process
- An overview of transportation safety related data including statewide data and data specific to the local area.
- A discussion of statewide and local safety challenges and opportunities
The Klamath Falls meeting is the last in a series of public input sessions held around the state. People interested in providing input but who cannot attend the meeting are encouraged to contact Walt McAllister, Community Programs manager for ODOT’s Transportation Safety Division, at (503) 986-4187 or email.
The meeting is open to the public. Accommodations will be provided to persons with disabilities, and alternate formats of printed material are available upon request. Please call (503) 986-4187 prior to the meeting (TTY: (503) 986-3854).
