New Official Oregon State Map uses new technology
Cover of the 009-2011 state map
For the first time, Oregon cartographers used Geographic Information System (GIS) technology exclusively to assemble the new Official Oregon State Map. GIS software allows cartographers to use data directly from local governments, such as cities and counties, and provides multiple options for displaying the data on the printed map. The result is a more up-to-date, easier-to-read 2009 - 2011 Official Oregon State Map.

The map, which features a photo of Summit Lake near the historic Central Oregon Military Wagon Road in the Willamette National Forest, is a free publication available at visitor centers, ODOT offices, chambers of commerce and other outlets.
