The Eastern Oregon Region plan provides direction for the Sun Pass State Forest and other tracts managed by the Klamath-Lake District in south central Oregon.  Sun Pass State Forest is located southeast of Crater Lake National Park, and contains about 20,000 acres in ponderosa/white fir and lodgepole pine forest zones.  Most of the forest is managed under an uneven-aged management system, which retains all size and age classes, and all naturally occurring tree species, for biodiversity.
