Fire Season Information
Fire season on the Southwest Oregon District has not begun, but wildfires can happen on any warm, breezy day in spring. Wildfires are often caused by open burning. Never leave a burning pile of debris unattended, and always completely extinguish the fire before nightfall. Check it again the next day and put out any embers. For more open burning information, see the Southwest Oregon District's opening burning  page.

Fire precaution levels assigned by ODF's Southwest Oregon District, located in Medford, affect state, private, county and Bureau of Land Management forestlands in Jackson and Josephine counties.

For regulations on national forest lands in Jackson and Josephine counties, contact the Rogue River Siskiyou National Forest.
