Welcome to the Oregon Department of Forestry's North Cascade District and Santiam State Forest web site.  The District encompasses two units, the Santiam Unit, which is also the District Headquarters, and the Molalla Unit.

The North Cascade District intensively manages the 47,871 acre Santiam State Forest and provides forest fire, insect and disease prevention, and detection and suppression activities on 534,818 acres of state and private forestlands.  In addition, the District provides fire prevention and suppression services on 117,677 acres of Bureau of Land Management forestlands.

Another important service the North Cascade District provides is assistance programs to private forest landowners in Clackamas, Marion, and northern Linn counties.
