Welcome to the Nursery and Christmas Tree Program

The Nursery and Christmas Tree Inspection Program has 17 full time staff, and 6 seasonal staff to provide inspection and certification services to over 5,000 licensed nurseries and 750 licensed Christmas tree growers located throughout the state. Each of the 14 horticulturists (inspectors) works a multiple county area. They can be contacted through the Salem office program phone number (503-986-4644).

Growers Assisted Inspection Program
The Grower Assisted Inspection Program, or GAIP, was developed to help reduce the risk of nursery plants from being infected with Phytophthora ramorum. GAIP's basic objective is to assist nurseries to self monitor for Phytophthora species and mitigate pathogen problems using appropriate management practices.
