Tax credits are calculated at 25% of the purchase price of the equipment up to the maximum amount listed for each model.
- An asterisk (*) in the model numbers below means that any character may appear in that position. Additional characters may appear before or after those listed.
- MEF is Modified Energy Factor and is the number of loads that can be washed per kilowatt hour of electricity modified by the effectiveness of spin cycle in drying clothes. Higher MEFs are more energy efficient.
- WF is Water Factor, a measure of the water-efficiency of the unit, in gallons per load divided by the volume of the unit. Lower WFs are more water-efficient.
To qualify, models must have a minimum MEF of 2.2 ft3/kWh/cycle and a maximum WF of 4.5 gal/ ft3/cycle.
If the model number of your equipment is not listed, your equipment may NOT qualify for a state tax credit. If you believe your equipment meets the performance standards but does not appear on this list, please call

If your model is listed, you can APPLY ONLINE NOW on our secure site to get your tax credit certificate immediately or you can fill out the Application Form (PDF) and mail/fax it to us along with a copy of your receipt.

The Oregon legislature has passed House Bill 3672, which changes the Oregon Department of Energy’s tax credit programs.
The RETC program is extended by HB 3672 to January 1, 2018, except for the alternative fuel vehicle credit (including electric vehicles) which retains its existing sunset of January 1, 2012. Amendments to the program are effective beginning January 1, 2012. HB 3672 eliminates dishwashers, clothes washers, refrigerators, plus air conditioners and boilers.
