Linn Benton Employer Council is a growing council, composed of private and public employers in the Albany, Corvallis, and Lebanon area.
Seminars and events:
The council hosts many low cost seminars and luncheons on topics of interest to local employers, such as labor law, veterans issues, managing employees, and more. The council also participates in events such as Linn County Business Extravaganza, the Linn County Schools Youth Job Fair, and the Benton County High School Career Convention.
Meetings:
Linn Benton Employer Council meets the first Wednesday of every month at 8:00 a.m. During this meeting the council discusses the local and state economy, Employment Department updates, and local business community news. Planning for events and seminars is also done at these meetings.
Scholarships, Sponsorships and Grants:
LBEC donates a $1000 scholarship to a business student at Linn Benton Community College every year. The council also gives block grants to local veteran programs, is a sponsor of both the Linn County Youth Job Fair and the Benton County High School Career Convention, grants money to buy underprivileged children presents at Christmastime, and grants money to the school district to buy clothing for underprivileged children.
