Two valuable resources are now available to guide parents in their support of their children’s education and career choices.

The “Parent Involvement = Future Success” brochure encourages parents to be involved in their child’s future. It also steers parents to a more in-depth resource, MyChildsFuture.org. Both the brochure and Web site include practical ideas for parents to support their children's education and career development.  < BR >
MyChildsFuture.org is organized by the children’s educational level (elementary, middle school, high school, college, and looking for a job), providing age-appropriate information for parents and other significant adults.

These materials were developed by the Partnership for Occupational and Career Information (POCI). POCI coordinates across the education and workforce systems to develop and disseminate quality career information products and services for Oregonians.

The partnership includes the Oregon Employment Department, Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development, Oregon Department of Education, and Oregon Career Information System (CIS).

Brochures in English and Spanish can be ordered free of charge by contacting Brenda Turner at Brenda.P.Turner@state.or.us or 503-947-1233.
