Celebration of the new Lincoln City office of WorkSource Oregon will be held on October 13, 2006. The office is located at 801 SE Hwy 101, in the City Hall building, 1st floor. The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting and open house from 3:30-5:30pm.

“This is an unprecedented cooperation between state agencies and the city of Lincoln City,” says Lincoln City Mayor Lori Hollingsworth. “We are glad that we can make this happen and keep an employment services presence in the city.”

Due to funding considerations, the Employment Department had scheduled to consolidate the Lincoln City office to Newport. Lincoln City officials offered space for the cost of utilities in the city hall building. The office is in a better location and will be open Monday-Friday from 8-5.

Employment Department Director Laurie Warner praised the city for their efforts. “It serves Oregon’s economy well when city governments and agencies can work together to provide many alternatives to employers who need qualified candidates and job seekers. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with the city.”

The Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce will hold an official ribbon cutting ceremony during the open house and refreshments will be served. The public is invited to attend and see what services are available to employers and job seekers at the new site.
