Academy Training delivers basic and advanced criminal justice training
DPSST Administrative Building
DPSST's Academy Training Division coordinates and facilitates all four basic criminal justice training courses for the agency - basic police, basic corrections, basic parole and probation, and basic telecommunicators. The Division also provides middle-management, supervisory and leadership training for criminal justice professionals, develops curriculum and training scenarios, validates and evaluates curriculum and training scenarios, and runs the operations and scheduling of the academy, training venues and dorms. The Training Division's overall mission is to enhance the professionalism, skills and knowledge of Oregon's criminal justice officers and managers through the provision of high-quality basic and advanced training. This Division works in concert with DPSST's Police Policy, Corrections Policy and Telecomunications Policy committees to identify training needs and redevelop training curricula and outcomes.
