Oregon Department of Revenue to hold public hearing on forestland valuation

SALEM—The Oregon Department of Revenue will hold a public hearing to discuss the proposed specially assessed forestland values for the 2008-09 property tax year.

The hearing will be begin at 1:15 p.m., April 17, at the Oregon Department of Revenue, 955 Center Street NE, Salem.

Revenue representatives will discuss the valuation process. Citizens may provide oral and/or written testimony on the proposed specially assessed values. They also may provide written comments regarding recent sales of forestland.
 
Information about sales of highest and best-use forestland that have occurred since June 2007 should include:
•    the county or location where the sale occurred;
•    the sale date; and
•    your name, address, and a daytime phone number.

The department must receive all comments about the proposed values and forestland sales by May 1.
