Snake River Correctional Institution Hosts Senior Citizens for Holiday Lunch at Prison in Ontario
Ontario - On Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. Snake River Correctional Institution (SRCI) will host a luncheon for 50 senior citizens from the Ontario Senior Citizen Center.
The luncheon will be held at the SRCI Minimum Facility Dining Room beginning at 11:30 a.m. After the luncheon a tour of the SRCI Minimum Facility will be offered to those in attendance.
The menu will be a traditional turkey dinner. Inmates will prepare and serve the meal under the supervision of staff. Meals are being sponsored by the SRCI Management Team.
The SRCI Staff Choir will sing holiday songs for the group.
SRCI is looking forward to this event as a way to reach out to the community, provide education to citizens about the corrections profession and provide inmates with opportunities to enhance their skills (food preparation and experience for serving/working in the food service profession) for their re-entry back into the community.
Media and press are invited to the event.
Please contact Amber Campbell at 541-881-5056 if you will have a representative from your affiliation in attendance at the event.
Note: No blue denim clothing is allowed. For further information relating to access into the institution please contact Amber Campbell at the number listed.
