| Inmate walks away from Salem work crew |

An inmate walked away this morning from a minimum-custody crew working on the grounds outside of Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem. The inmate, Eduardo Vaca-Garcia, 20, was last seen at 7:05 a.m. heading west on State Street.
Vaca-Garcia is described as Hispanic male, 5’ 5" tall, weighing 150 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. He has a cross tattoo on his left hand and a tattoo on his upper left arm of a peacock, rose and butterfly. He was wearing a navy blue t-shirt and Prison Blues denim jeans.
Vaca-Garcia was admitted to prison on February 10, 2005 and was due to be released in August 2006. He is serving a sentence for Burglary I from Marion County. The Oregon Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit, the Oregon State Police, and local law enforcement agencies are investigating.
