Fugitive sighted in Eugene

The Oregon Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit confirmed today that on Friday, a business in Eugene had contact with Chadwick Alan Shores, an inmate who walked away from a work crew in Myrtle Creek in August.

The business owners positively identified Shores from photographs presented to them. Because their continuing cooperation is needed, investigators are not yet releasing details of the sighting.

Chadwick Alan Shores, 32, walked away from a minimum-custody inmate work crew assigned to battle the Bland Mountain fire. Shores is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5’11" tall and weighs 160 lbs.

Shores was incarcerated at Snake River Correctional Institution in Ontario on Burglary and Coercion convictions from Lane County. He earliest release date was October 2006.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Shores is asked to contact the DOC Fugitive Apprehension Unit at 503-945-9030 or the non-emergency number of their local law enforcement agency. As with all fugitives, he should be considered dangerous and citizens should not attempt to apprehend him.
