Fugitive Thomas Gunn Sought

The Oregon Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the Oregon State Police are attempting to locateThomas Allen Gunn, a fugitive from Mill Creek Correctional Facility in Salem.
Gunn and another inmate, Larry James Lattymer, walked away from a work assignment at the minimum security prison southeast of Salem at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday morning. Both inmates were on office cleaning detail and were outside the unfenced institution dumping trash at the time of the escape.
 
Lattymer, who is serving time for Attempted Rape, was apprehended by the Oregon State Police and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department at 8:45 a.m. at the Brooks I-5 interchange. Further search of the area with the State Police helicopter was unsuccessful in locating Gunn.
 
Gunn, 30, is described as a white male with long curly brown hair, a mustache and blue eyes. He is 5’8” tall and weighs 150 lbs. He was last seen wearing a blue T- shirt and blue jeans. He was serving a 50-month sentence from Coos County for Burglary. His projected release date was December 2001.
 
A warrant has been issued for Gunn’s arrest, and anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should call 911 or their local police department.
