Oregon's Tobacco Prevention and Education Program (TPEP) was launched in 1997 with a clear and simple mandate - to reduce tobacco-related illness and death. Since its inception, TPEP has been a comprehensive program, addressing the issues of tobacco use by working to reduce exposure to secondhand smoke, counter pro-tobacco influence, help people quit and eliminate health disparities.

Trainings and Events
The TPEP and Healthy Communities Grantees and Contractors meeting was held Tuesday, October 13th and Wednesday, October 14, 2009. This years' meeting provided two full days of networking among fellow grantees and contractors, as well as, learning opportunities addressing health equity, self-management, and healthy worksite initiatives. The Oregon Tobacco Quit Line is a free telephone service available to all Oregon residents who want to stop using tobacco. The Quit Line offers you free quitting information, one-on-one telephone counseling, and referrals for you or a loved one.
