Parents should ask their child's doctor or nurse for advice and guidance about reliable, evidence-based resources for learning about immunizations.

Do Vaccines Cause That?! A Guide for Evaluating Vaccine Safety Concerns Martin G. Myers, MD and Diego Pineda, (2008)

Martin Myers is a pediatrician who has devoted his distinguished career to the prevention of infectious diseases in children. In addition to chairing a university department of pediatrics, he has directied the national Vaccine Program Office. Currently, Dr. Myers is director of public health policy and education at the Sealy Center for Vaccine Developement of the University of Texas Medical Branch. Since 2003, he has served as executive director and editor for the National Network for Immunization Information (NNii), an affiliation of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Fhysicians, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Nurses Association, the American Medical Association, the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and the Society for Adolescent Medicine.

Paul Offit, MD, is the chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases and the director of the Vaccine Education Center at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Offit is also the Maurice R. Hilleman Professor of Vaccinology, and a professor of pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He is a recipient of many awards including the J. Edmund Bradley Prize for Excellence in Pediatrics bestowed by the University of Maryland Medical School, the Young Investigator Award in Vaccine Development from the Infectious Disease Society of America and a Research Career Development Award from the National Institutes of Health.
