News and Information - HIV/AIDS Data and Analysis - Updated 7/7/2006
Beginning July 1, 2006, the State of Oregon will require additional lab information regarding HIV-related testing. These changes include reporting of all viral loads and CD4 counts (previously only detectable viral loads were reportable). Additionally, laboratories will now be given the option of reporting all labs electronically.

Universal HIV Screening for Pregnant Women in Oregon
In 2005, the Oregon legislature passed HB 2706, which revised ORS 433.017 and 433.045 to facilitate universal testing of pregnant women. These changes are collectively known as “opt-out” prenatal testing for HIV. You can read about the changes providers and laboratories will be implementing as of January 2006.
