Oregon Trauma Registry

Data Request Policy and Procedure

Oregon Trauma Registry (OTR) reports are generated from patients entered into the trauma system or who meet criteria for inclusion in the registry. Patients suffering traumatic injury who do not meet inclusion criteria, who are treated at non-trauma hospitals, or declared dead at the scene are not included in these reports. Data is submitted to the Oregon Trauma Registry by 45 accredited trauma centers, and represents a subset of Oregon's patients who suffer traumatic injury.

Policy

In order to facilitate requests for data from the Oregon Trauma Registry (OTR), while maintaining confidentiality pursuant to ORS 431.627(4)(a) and 41.675, specific procedures for such requests must be adhered to. Click here to learn more about ORS 431.627

Procedure

All requests for data from the OTR must be submitted in writing to the Trauma Program Manager.  A signed request form is submitted by mail or fax to the Oregon Trauma Program. All data requests are reviewed and must be approved prior to release of data. Contact Susan Harding at (971) 673-0527 or via email at susan.m.harding@state.or.us for further information.

Requesting a Research Data Set

Public health officials and researchers may request use of OTR data by either contacting Trauma Program Manager, Susan Werner or Trauma Coordinator, Michelle Haun-Hood.
