Keeping your eyes healthy when you have diabetes
  • Explains the importance of getting regular dilated eye exams, noting that eye problems can develop slowly and have no symptoms at first.  Stresses importance of finding and treating eye problems when they are still at an early stage.

     

  • Has a series of illustrations that show how certain eye problems that can result from high levels of blood glucose affect a person's vision.

     

  • Explains what is meant by "dilated" eye exam, emphasizing how this exam differs from a vision check to get glasses or contact lenses.
