Asthma Data Workgroup
One of the primary goals of the Oregon Asthma Program is to develop a comprehensive public health surveillance system for asthma. The two main objectives of the surveillance system are to monitor the burden of asthma in our state and to determine whether the indicators in The Guide to Improving Asthma Care in Oregon are being met.
To accomplish these objectives, the Oregon Asthma Program convened the Asthma Data Workgroup (ADWG), which is composed of representatives from health plans, health systems, local health departments, and community organizations.
The mission of the Asthma Data Workgroup is two-fold:
- To provide guidance of and assistance in the analysis of data sources not otherwise available to the Oregon Asthma Program, in order to make public health surveillance for asthma as comprehensive and informative as possible; and
- To assist with the dissemination of surveillance data regarding the burden of asthma in Oregon.

These technical specifications describe the methods to be used by participating Fully Capitated Health Plans in measuring their health plan claims data (based on Oregon's Technical Specifications - see above).
