Special message re: Payday Loan Customer Survey
The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) which enforces Oregon's consumer finance laws, is trying to learn about consumers' experiences in using payday loans. A payday lender is someone who makes single-payment, high-interest-rate "payday" or "title" loans to consumers for less than 60 days. If you have no experience with this type of lender, there's no need to read any further.
A number of state agencies have been asked to assist them. DHS has agreed to help DCBS in this effort by providing our employees a link to their Web-based survey. By taking a few minutes to answer the survey questions, you can help them evaluate the payday loan industry and the services it provides to Oregonians.
This is an anonymous and confidential survey. Your responses will be grouped with many others for review. The DCBS assures us that they will make every effort to ensure that no one can identify you personally.
While participation is entirely voluntary, if you have borrowed from a payday lender we encourage you to take a few minutes to provide information that can be used to help all Oregonians who need to borrow money on a short-term basis. Please try to complete the survey by the end of this month.
Thank you for your consideration.
