Andy Cartmill

Experience: Senior Program Educator-Addictions, Washington County Department of Health and Human Services

Topic: Problem Gambling. Gambling generates more revenue in the U.S. than spectator sports, the cruise ship industry, theme parks, recorded music and the movies - combined! Oregon is second only to Nevada in the types of gaming that are offered. This enormous industry has a downside, however: problem and pathological behavior. Examine the signs and symptoms of problem/pathological gambling as it becomes an issue, and learn about the history of gambling in the U.S. and Oregon. Hear about the prevalence of problem gambling in Washington County and what gamblers and their families can do about it. Available in PowerPoint or standard overhead formats for any group or organization.
