| Introduction |
|
 |
The State Data Center (SDC) is a shared services delivery and support unit. It provides standard information technology infrastructure to directly serve government entities.
Oregon government uses a shared utility business model, similar to that found in power, water and telephone delivery organizations. This model allows state government to pattern itself after service providers like outsourcers in the commercial market.
|
| The state leverages skills, resources and assets to reduce costs through economies of scale and standardized solutions. |
Service Catalog
The SDC offers a consistent set of services and responsibilities for its customers in order to provide maximum quality, efficiency and value.
The Service Catalog v3.6 - pending (pdf) contains descriptions of basic support services of centralized and remote infrastructure. The catalog is grouped under five categories— Computing, Network, Storage, Voice, and Security.
The Service Catalog is pending approval by state agency heads of the SDC Advisory Board. After review in the next several weeks, the catalog is expected to be approved by the board at their March 2008 meeting.
