Qualified Lodging
Q. What is the IN-STATE qualified lodging establishment listing?

The State of Oregon Department of Administrative Services - Purchasing has developed a list of in-state qualified lodging establishments for State of Oregon travelers. This list was obtained through a Request for Qualification process. These establishments meet specific requirements to be added to the listing. State Authorizations are issued to each qualified establishment.

The State of Oregon will continue to accept responses to the Request for Qualification throughout the year.

Q. What are the requirements that must be met by these establishments?

Hotel Requirements--See Request for Qualification Sheet:
Only responses that meet all of the following requirements will receive consideration by the State: 
  1. Room rates offered are below rack or retail rate and are at or below current Oregon Lodging per diems; run of the house/last room availability;
  2. Room taxes are not included in the lodging per diem rate;
  3. Should be able to book lodging reservations throught CRS;
  4. Non-smoking rooms are available;;.
  5. There is NO cancellation penalty with a maximum of 24 hours notice or less if stipulated;
  6. Property will honor confirmed reservations or will provide for stay at another comparable hotel in the area;
  7. Property must offer unrestricted room rates for all rooms of the room type offered as stipulated by the RFQ;
  8. Property WILL NOT charge a deposit fee for rooms booked with more then 24 hours notice.
 
Q. Are State of Oregon travelers required to stay at these establishment?

No. The State of Oregon plans to use rates as an incentive to direct travelers to selected hotels. State of Oregon Travelers are not required to use any of the establishments.

Q. What is the form of payment?

State of Oregon employees or official State Government travelers may use either their State authorized travel card, or their personal credit or debit card to make payment. The State charge card is currently the US Bank Visa Card for the State of Oregon agencies and Oregon Cooperative Purchasing Program members. Some travelers may use State warrants to avoid payment of sales tax. The Oregon Department of Revenue requires that the travelers who use the State-sponsored travel card must still pay hotel taxes.
