Use This Tool to Manage Your State of Oregon Benefits
What it's for
PEBB designed this system to help you manage your State of Oregon employee benefits. Mandatory benefits include medical, dental and basic life insurance coverage. Optional benefits include:
  • Optional life insurance, including dependent life insurance
  • Accidental death and dismemberment insurance
  • Long term and short term disability insurance
  • Long term care insurance
  • Healthcare flexible spending accounts
  • Dependent care flexible spending accounts.

What you can do
After you register, you can
  • Update your personal information
  • View your current benefit elections
  • Update your dependents' information
  • Enter and update your beneficiary information.
During Open Enrollment, Oct. 1-31, you can use pebb.benefits to make all your open-enrollment choices.

 
You can also use the site to estimate your benefit costs by selecting Benefit Estimator and compare plans using Compare Plans.

How to Register
To register to use pebb.benefits, select pebb.benefits from the menu on the left. At the pebb.benefits Welcome page, select Register Here and follow the instructions.  To register, you will need to provide your
  • First and last name as they appear on your Social Security card
  • Date of birth (mm-dd-yyyy)
  • Type of ID you wish to use to register for the first time (PEBB Benefit Number, University employee number or Social Security number)
  • ID Number.
Your PEBB Benefit Number (letter P followed by eight digits) was provided on the benefit confirmation statement you received from PEBB in 2006. If you cannot locate that number, please contact your agency representative or PEBB.

Site Requirements
Operating Systems
This application runs on Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
 

Internet Browsers
This application was designed for:
  • Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher
  • Mozilla Firefox version 1.0 or higher.

Screen Setting
For the best user experience, set your screen area to 1024x768 pixels. To change your screen area to this resolution on a Windows-equipped computer, select Start, Settings, Control Panel, Display. In the Display Properties window, select the Settings tab. Under Screen Area, slide the guide to 1024x769.

Inactivity Time Out
The system will automatically log you out after 30 minutes of inactivity. The system will record benefit selections you have made. However, the benefit elections will not go into effect until you have completed the enrollment process by confirming your elections. The next time you log in to the system, you will be prompted to save and confirm your elections.

Registering and Logging In
To Register
To register, you will need to provide the following information:
  • First name as it appears on your Social Security card
  • Last name as it appears on your Social Security card
  • Date of birth (mm-dd-yyyy)
  • ID number you wish to use to register for the first time. This number may be your
    • PEBB-assigned Benefit Number that begins with the letter P followed by eight digits
    • University-assigned ID number
    • Social Security number.
When you have this information at hand, select Log In to pebb.benefits. In the box at the upper left of the screen, select Register Here. Follow the instructions on the Register New User screen.

Forgot Your Password?
Select Forgot Your Password? from the Log In screen and provide the following information:
  • First name as it appears on your Social Security card
  • Last name as it appears on your Social Security card
  • Date of birth (mm-dd-yyyy)
  • ID number you wish to use to register for the first time. This number may be your
    • PEBB-assigned Benefit Number that begins with the letter P followed by eight digits
    • University-assigned ID number
    • Social Security number.
When you select Save, the system will search for your record and User Name and allow you to select a new password. When you have selected and confirmed your new password, you can log in.

Privacy and Security
Links to Other Sites
This site has links to other Web sites as a convenience to our customers. These include links to Web sites operated by other government agencies, nonprofit organizations and private businesses. When you use one of these links, they will open in a separate browser window. When you open these links, the new browser window is no longer on this site and this Privacy Notice will not apply. When you link to another Web site, you are subject to the privacy policy of that new site.

When you link to one of these sites in a new browser window, neither the State of Oregon, nor any agency, officer or employee of the State of Oregon warrants the accuracy, reliability or timeliness of any information published by these external sites, nor endorses any content, viewpoints, products, or services linked from these systems, and can not be held liable for any losses caused by reliance on the accuracy, reliability or timeliness of their information. Portions of such information may be incorrect or not current. Any person or entity that relies on any information obtained from these systems does so at his or her own risk.

Internet Information We Collect
When you log in to pebb.benefits, we automatically collect and store the standard data collected by all Web server software. That information is as follows:
  1. The Internet Protocol (IP) address and domain name used (but not the e-mail address). The IP address is a numerical identifier assigned either to your Internet service provider or directly to your computer. We use the Internet IP to respond to your browser request. Example: 122.125.36.42;
  2. The Domain name (DNS) assigned on the Internet to your IP Address (if there is one). Example: somename.com;
  3. The type of browser and operating system you used. Example: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows NT; IE4WDUS-1998101501);
  4. The date and time you visited this site;
  5. The Web pages or services you accessed at this site;
  6. The Web site you visited before coming to this Web site (Note: this is included so that summary analysis can be done on how visitors get to our site, such as from a search engine or from a link on another site.); and
  7. The number of bytes sent by our server.
We do not track individual user navigation choices. We do, however, summarize the information listed above to determine:
  • The time it takes for our Web server(s) to respond to your requests as you browse through our site
  • What organizations are our most frequent users (item 2 above) to better target our content for the audience
  • What browsers are being used on our site to determine what techniques we can use to develop pages that will work with different browsers (item 3 above)
  • How often our pages are being used (item 5 above)
  • How traffic is directed here from other sites, such as the search engines that are good at directing people to our site (item 6 above).
For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, this site may monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. If security monitoring reveals evidence of possible abuse or criminal activity, system personnel may provide the results of such monitoring to appropriate officials. Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the state law and federal statutes including the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act of 1996.

Your Personal Information
pebb.benefits collects and stores personal information. Personal information means the following information that identifies an individual:
  • PEBB Benefit Number, University ID Number or Social Security Number used to register users
  • Name
  • Address (excluding five-digit zip code)
  • Telephone Number.
Personal Information is protected from release under the Privacy Law. Generally, an individual cannot get another person's personal information. A domain name and Internet Protocol (IP) address are not considered personal information. An e-mail address is generally considered personal information.
 
pebb.benefits neither collects nor stores personal health information. It collects and stores only information used to administer benefits.

E-mail
pebb.benefits does not support e-mail. If you send PEBB (as part of a state agency) an e-mail message with a question or comment that contains personal information, we will use the information only to respond to your request. However, please note that e-mails received by PEBB are considered public record. Certain information contained in the e-mail may be protected from general release under Oregon's Public Records Law (ORS 192.410-192.505) or Oregon's Record Privacy Law (ORS 802.175-802.191). This information may be released only if a requestor qualifies under the law to receive the information.

Encrypted Data Transmission
For secure-data transmission, pebb.benefits uses the industry standard encryption software, Secure Socket Layer (SSL). The URL in your browser will change to "https" instead of "http" when this security feature is invoked. Your browser may also display a lock or key symbol on its task bar to indicate an invoked secure transmission. If these indicators are not present, any information is susceptible to interception by other parties.

Cookies
pebb.benefits does not use cookies.
