IS OREGON MAKING PROGRESS?
YES
Oregon has done a good job preventing invasive species from becoming established. The target is a ceiling, aimed at limiting the rate of increase to one species per year or less. The Oregon Invasive Species Council maintains a list of the 100 most dangerous invaders threatening Oregon.

| Benchmark Endnote |
89. Number of most threatening invasive species not successfully excluded or contained since 2000
Explanation: This benchmark measures our success at excluding harmful invasive species. Invasive species are non-native plants, animals and microorganisms that would cause significant economic or environmental damage if they were to become established in the state. The list of the 100 most dangerous invasive species threatening the state is updated annually by the Oregon Invasive Species Council. This benchmark does not include invasive species that were in Oregon prior to 2000 such as Scotch broom.
Target: Targets set by the Oregon Progress Board.
