How to Change a DAS Mainframe Password
Change Current Expired Password:
- Enter your current expired password in the password field.
- Enter a new password of your choice using the new password rule information in the new password field.
- Enter the same new password of your choice again, when requested, in the new password field.
Change New Temporary, Expired Password:
- Enter the new temporary, expired password you have been given in the password field.
- Enter a new password of your choice using the new password rule information in the new password field.
- Enter the same new password of your choice again, when requested, in the new password field.
DAS Mainframe New Password Rule Information:
- Must be seven or eight characters.
- Must contain at least one number and one letter.
- Must differ from previous passwords.
- Must be changed every 90 days.
- Should have numbers somewhere in the middle if using 1 or 2 numbers, not at the beginning or end.
- Should NOT be the login name (RACF Userid) or reverse of the login name with a number added.
- Should NOT be a word found in the dictionary with 1 or 2 numbers added.
- Should NOT be a name or username, including a relative´s or pet´s name, with 1 or 2 numbers added.
- Should NOT be a phone number, driver´s license number or other personal number with a letter.
- Should NOT be your birth date or another´s known birth date with a letter.
- Should NOT be a word or number that can be easily guessed.
- Should NOT be stored where someone can discover your password.
NOTE: @ # and $ are special characters that may be used.
