Family Leave Laws in Oregon Handbook -- 2004 Edition

The White Collar Exemptions Handbook -- (Currently out of print. Watch our web site for our new, revised and updated version.)
Deciding how to classify employees--as exempt or non-exempt--is a decision no employer should undertake lightly. While most employees are covered by the rules governing wages and overtime, some employees qualify as exempt. But there is a widespread misconception that if employees have a management title and are paid a salary, they can qualify for an overtime exemption. The White Collar Exemptions spells out the requirements employers must meet when classifying their employees. The handbook includes "duties tests" for administrative and professional employees, "salary basis" tests, detailed explanations, practice tips, examples as well as copies of applicable administrative rules.
