|
Active licensees in Oregon are required to report four hours of CPE in professional conduct and ethics EVERY RENEWAL PERIOD. (Effective January 1, 2009)
NEW LICENSEES MUST TAKE AN ETHICS PROGRAM FROM A REGISTERED ETHICS SPONSER. A list of the registerd providers is listed below. A registered sponser must include information pertaining to each of the following topics:
- Oregon Revised Statutes and Oregon Administrative Rules pertaining to the practice of public accountancy;
- Examples of issues or situations that require a licensee to understand relevant statutes and rules;
- The Code of Professional Conduct adopted by the Board and set forth in OAR Chapter 801, Division 030; and
- Overview of recent case law pertaining to ethics and professional responsibilities of the accounting profession.
LICENSEES WHOSE PRINCIPAL PLACE OF BUSINESS IS IN ANOTHER JURISDICTION may meet the other jurisdictions ethics requirement. If the other jurisdiction does not require ethics for renewal, the licensee must meet Oregon's requirement.
